Nothing fills a fruiterer with more hope than the arrival of Spring. With the new season comes new produce, and more specifically heralds the arrival of what we consider the respective Queens (or Kings, to be pc) of the Fruit and Vegetable world, the Kensington Pride Mango and Local Asparagus.
With hope comes pride, as the mango’s name suggests. Pride in the aroma that wafts through the store as these mangos continue their process of ripening on our shelves. Pride in the glorious blush that beams out from the display.
And across the store, standing proudly to attention, are the glorious new season asparagus bunches, the heads of the spears resembling a Regal Crown. With deep green stems and perfectly tapered heads, you just know that you are on winner when they hit the shelves. Later in the season, like around Christmas time, when of course everyone wants asparagus, the spears can be a bit seedy and old. Just a tip
You may have noticed mangos and asparagus on the shelves in store or online already, but now we intend on giving them a good run. We feel it is time and the quality and price is right to give these 2 legends of the fruit and vegetable empire a good push
