Most of you know me as the fruit guy who tells you what’s in season and what’s eating nicely at the moment. What you mightn’t have known is that I’m also a chocolate guy who likes to dabble in the occasional Freddo frog. So basically you now know me as a fruit AND chocolate guy, which gives me great joy as I can now talk to you about the delicious new range of Artisan Chocolates we stock from another Greek family business (30 years) called Xocolatl, located in Kew, Toorak and Canterbury.
Available in both dark chocolate (gluten free, dairy free and vegan) and milk chocolate (gluten free) and all made with the highest quality ingredients.
These aren’t your everyday chocolates that you dish out for snacks for the kids or rewards for doing their chores. These are decadent treats that you save for yourselves in special cupboards that the kids wouldn’t think to look in.
There is an old saying in Greece “Na troi i mana ke na mi thini sto moro”, which literally means “the one the mother eats and won’t give to the child” because it’s so good. Those old Greeks must have had something similarly divine on their minds when they coined this saying.
We stock five of Xocolatl’s lines and they all get a run at home in the private cupboard.
Our favourites are the almond and peanut selections. They are kind of like Snickers for grown ups but so much more satisfying.
Another one that brings back memories of the 70s favourite the “Choc Orange” is the dried Orange Peel dipped in dark chocolate. Yum!
We definitely have our choc orange loving customers who tell us this quality combo is hard to find.
The strawberry and raspberry coated with milk and dark chocolates are our fastest sellers. They are truly berry delightful!
