This week we are looking at Citrus, Strawberries and the old favourite, Avocados
Oranges - Cara Cara
A$1.35
When the red Navel orange “Cara Cara” hits the market, you know you are in the thick of citrus season! This orange naturally evolved as a mutation of the Washington Navel in the South American jungle. Sort of like an X-fruit for X-Men fans, only sweeter and easier to peel! Their stunning red flesh is perfect for platters and their juice is divine. Our plump and juicy Cara’s are available online for $1.35 each or in-store at $5.99/kg
Speaking of citrus season, did you know our Imperial Mandarins are now coming from Mildura? That’s about as local as you can get for citrus! In our opinion the mandarins sourced from this region are the best of the season. Their flavour is robust and the flesh is easy to peel. You may get the odd seed, but hey, that’s what nature intended, right?
Avos were getting a bad rap because they were contributing to our nation’s housing affordability woes and so forth. We want to celebrate the avocado while prices are low and bring you back to the avo. For this week we are running specials on premium Hass avocados. Large are $2.99 or 2 for $4.79 and small are $1.99 or 2 for $3.29. Be a part of the Avolution!
Strawberries - QUEENSLAND "Bernie's" - 250g - 2 FOR
A$4.99
Queensland strawberries are back and prices are getting low. This week we are running Bernie’s Berries from Bli Bli in Queensland. We love Bernie’s berries because he’s very consistent and grows a great strawberry. He’s always up with new varieties and does a great job. Well done Bernie! This week they are $2.99 or 2 for $4.99.
